She was born in Boston, grew up in Hull, Massachusetts and after
living in New York, Orange County, California (near Los Angeles)
and San Francisco, she's come home to New England. She's Joan Goodman,
and you can see her on "LOUNGE TV", where she's the regular vocalist,
possessing one of the finest soprano singing voices you'll hear anywhere.
Joni (as her friends call her) started taking singing lessons as a child,
and made her TV debut on the legendary Boston-area talent show
"Community Auditions" before she reached her teens. While living in New York,
she was a guest on Joe Franklin's show on WWOR-TV (which ran locally in New York for
almost four decades). And from time-to-time during the mid-1990's, she appeared as a
guest on "Not Quite Live",
a long-running talk/variety show that was seen in the Norwood, Massachusetts area.
Thus, she's had a number of TV appearances over the years.
In addition, Joni's had extensive experience singing in clubs and restaurants
in the Boston, New York, Orange County/Los Angeles, and San Francisco areas.
From time-to-time, you'll be able to hear her sing at various venues in
the greater Boston area, where she currently makes her home.
We, the producers of "Not Quite Live" decided to end that series, and instead, start-up
a variety show titled
"LOUNGE TV", which needed a regular vocalist. Considering that we had worked
with Miss Goodman from time-to-time, the search for a regular vocalist was
a very short one. She agreed to join us, and our show is all the better
for it.
On "LOUNGE TV", you'll hear Joni sing some of the great standards of the
American songbook. Although she enjoys listening to almost every kind
of music, she's most comfortable singing the great standards as well as the classic
songs from Broadway and Hollywood, songs you'll hear her sing on our show.
